Artisan Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

Unlike regular 'claws' this ring features an interlocking fleur-de-lis design which from the side appears almost as a coronet and truly displays the intricacy and delicate goldsmithing of this ring.
The five opals taper in size and have a wonderful lustre and colour with vibrant blues and greens that are particularly highlighted under natural sunlight. In our opinion, the opals are most likely of Australian origin due to their colour distribution and hydrophobic (non-water absorbent) characteristics.

The various sizes and angles that the opal cabochons are set in allow for the angles of the gems to shine and reflect from all angles of viewing.
Such a combination of fine goldsmithing and jewellery design makes this an excellent and versatile choice whether be it for wearing as a contrasting piece of jewellery among other pieces or as an eye-catching single ring.

Opal is known to be the birthstone for October.
A very special gift to a lucky individual or as an indulging gift to oneself. Classically elegant, distinguished and a conversation starter.
The ring has faint hallmarks that are worn due to age and are difficult to identify, and as such, we have fully tested it for 14ct(+) solid gold.

All of our rings come with a complimentary hard shell gift box with a velvet interior.
