Originating from the llanwrst area of north wales these small transitional dressers and racks are "as rare as hen,s teeth"
Called transitional because they were a development of the welsh dressers as we know them from diadarns and tridarns( north wales court cupboards2 and 3 tier)
This is 140cms long 189cms h and 56cms deep. And in almost untouched condition. Even the handles appear original. It has also a rare feature of a spice cupboard built in
They were highly treasured even in georgian times and very rarely left the farming welsh families they were made for.
They were made small and low to fit into the welsh longhouses of the time.
There are examples in r bebb,s book welsh furniture and in V. Chinnery,s book the traditions of oak.
