. The panelled rising lid fitted with heavy quality brass hinges.

The interior lined throughout with camphor wood. Camphor being well-documented as a protection against insect infestation to clothing or materials , having a perfumed property to the timber .

A smart storage chest for use perhaps on a landing or at the end of a bed , to add an exotic oriental accent to an interior.
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina.
