Very Rare, English Bronze, Hunting Group By John Willis Good, Cox & Sons 1875

Superb, very rare, English Bronze hunting group by John Willis Good (1845-1879) modelled as a huntsman blowing his horn, with two hounds. Signed and dated to base ‘J Willis Good 1875’ and with foundry mark ‘Cox & Sons Founders.’
 
This is one of only a very few models cast by Cox & Sons.
 
The Thames Ditton Foundry was owned by Cox & Sons in 1874, going into liquidation in 1880.
 
There are only two previously recorded examples of this model, one at Sothebys in July 2004, and the last one at Milea Bros, NJ, Lot 1106 on 18/4/15 achieving $8000.
 
Excellent condition throughout, minor age relate wear,
