Metamorphic Marquetry Games Table C.1930

1920 - 1940
Description

Unusual little metamorphic side table c.1930. Removable tray top with raised sides, inlaid on one side with a marquetry scene of houses in a landscape on one side and with a 10 x 10 chequerboard on the other. Remove the tray to reveal a writing table with a tan leather top. Small drawer to both the front and rear. Parquetry work veneers to the sides laid to create a herringbone pattern to the drawer fronts and sides with inlaid strung borders. Raised on tapering square legs, veneered to match with brass mounts at the feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
