Victorian Silver Drum Mustard Pot by William Summers, London 1857

Description

This exquisite solid silver mustard pot is hallmarked for London 1857 and bears the marks of the renowned London silversmith William Summers. The drum-shaped body exquisitely engraved with panels decorated with fruits and flowers. The flat hinged cover with conforming decorations. The back with a shaped scroll handle and the cover with pierced thumbpiece.

Fitted with the original blue glass glass liner.

The inner lid hallmarked with maker's marks, date letter and Lion Passant.

Sold with a solid silver initialled mustard spoon hallmarked for London 1824

Hallmarks:

W.S for William Summers.

Lion Passant.

London Assay Mark.

Duty Mark.

Date letter "b" for 1857.

Condition:

Good.

No dings or dents.

Engravings a little soft.

Liner in perfect condition.
