Antique Waltham P S Bartlett full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a 17-jewel stem-winding movement, P S Bartlett grade, which is working nicely. This is a good quality movement with Church 1892 patent regulator, Breguet hairspring for enhanced precision and nicely patterned plates. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 20302014 which dates it back to 1915.

The Bartlett grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50.8mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Star model from the English watch case maker Dennisons. The Dennison Watch Case Company made most of the cases for Waltham UK. The case is in nice condition with only minor marks from use.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.
