A good Doulton Lambeth salt glazed stoneware motto tankard c.1890 decorated in relief with the motto ‘LET GOOD DIGESTION WAIT ON APPETITE AND HEALTH ON BOTH’, taken from Shakespeare’s MacBeth, with a decorative green and white relief border around the splayed foot and faux stitching on & either side of the handle. This charming Tankard is fully marked on the underside including Rd No. 157999 and is in excellent condition standing 5 inches tall.
