Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chinese export armorial porcelain refers to customized ceramic dinner services produced in China during the 17th to 19th centuries specifically for wealthy European and American families. These pieces were decorated with the buyers family coat of arms or crest alongside traditional Chinese motifs.

Armorial pieces were fabricated from hard-paste porcelain fired at high temperatures in Jingdezhen, then transported to Canton where skilled artisans applied overglaze enamels and gilding by hand to depict complex heraldic emblems and botanical borders.

Authentic pieces feature a slight orange-peel texture to the glaze, slight irregularities in the hand-painted enamels, pinholes or iron spots in the porcelain paste, and wear to the gilt edges consistent with age and handling.

Designers frequently position armorial plates upright on brass display stands atop sideboards, arrange them in symmetrical wall groupings using plate hangers, or incorporate them into glass-fronted cabinets alongside contemporary ceramics.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a soft microfibre cloth with mild soap, avoiding chemical solvents or abrasive pads that can wear down delicate overglaze enamels and gilding. Never submerge armorial ceramics in water for extended periods or clean them in a dishwasher.
