Antique Spelling And Alphabet Box - Includes 232 Double Sided Bone Letters

This is a great 19th century alphabet and spelling mahogany box with a chamfered lid . On the centre of the lid is a bone inlaid tile with SPELLING ALPHABET on it. Inside there are approximately 232 bone letters. All the letters are double sided with an upper case letter on one side and a lower case letter on the other side.
 
The box measures 15cm w x 10cm d x 5.5cm h.
 
This box is bigger than most of its type and has a lot more bone letters than are usually found. There are at least seven of each letter, the vowels and Y having more.
 
A lovely complete set.
