This example is of a rare design and would have been used in a Dockyard or headquarters as it was not fitted with the brass corner straps, although it does have the flush handles you find on the campaign pieces.

It is made in the 2 parts as you’d expect of a military chest.

The top with the overhanging rounded corners above the 2 half width drawers at the top with a further full width drawer below.

The base section with 2 full width graduated drawers.

The chest stands on its original turned mahogany feet.
