Description

This is an impressive bronze sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte as First Consul, Mid 19th century in date.

The exquisite black patina bust features Napoleon in First Consul uniform, mounted on a beautiful socle base.

Napoleon reigned as First Consul from November 10, 1799 to December 1804. The consulate was replaced by Premier Empire with the coronation of Napoleon I on December 2, 1804.

This high-quality bronze is made from the lost wax process cire perdue.
