Description:

An inusual jug, I have never seen anythinq quite like it before. It depicts a judge,crossed keys, sheafs of corn and a pig, the pattern is repeated on the other side of the jug. There is some tiny writing around the base of the jug which is hard to decipher. There is an old note in the jug referring to some lord or other suggesting the whole jug relates to the tythe laws, whick makes sense with these motifs.
Date: 1840
Leek shop open Fridays and Saturdays only 10a.m-4p.m.or any time by arrangement.Knutsford open daily including Sunday but closed on Monday.
