Description:
A very attractive late 17th century, William and Mary period and later walnut marquetry chest on stand.

Depth 25" / 64cm
The walnut veneered chest of drawers has fine marquetry inlay of different shaded and grained woods such as sycamore and holly in symmetrical arabesque floral motifs. The top also having a fine design of central and corner floral motifs on an oyster veneered walnut base with crossgrained moulded edge.The marquetry is echoed on the sides of the chest in an arch motif. The chest stands on a later walnut five legged barleytwist turned stand. A stunning decorative and practical piece of antique furniture. Viewing available , contact for a delively quote. |
