A great pair of large Staffordshire figures of Julius Ceasar and George Parr. George wears a blue cap with orange peak and Julius is in an orange cap. Julius is holding his bat and George is holding his ball in his right hand. These are lovely models, full of life. probably by Sampson Smith Circa 1865. See Pugh 'Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Era page 458 for comparables. Size 36cm tall. |
