Description:
A 19th century German Meissen porcelain vase and lid.
The vase is beautifully decorated with embossed fruit, flowers and foliage, two cherubs and is painted with flowers and in the centre a scene of a courting couple. The tall lid is decorated to match, is pierced and has a gilded grille on two sides so the vase can be used to hold pot-pourri. The underneath of the vase is signed with the Meissen mark of two crossed swords of saxony in blue.
The vase is in good condition but with the odd tip of a flower or leaf chipped off which in most places is unnoticeable. (Circa 1880)
