Description:
A very handsome little box which undoubtedly would have been part of a larger gentleman's boxed travel set.
The box is made from heavy crystal and topped with a solid or sterling silver hinged lid with a raised cartouche to the lid with a very regal engraved crown topped with a Scottish thistle, the initials below I believe read G.C.
The interior of the lid is where the English silver hallmark can be found for 1813 and the makers initials T.D for Thomas Dicks.
Excellent condition measuring 1 5/8" square x 1 3/8" tall.
