A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection

Description

This antique George V sterling silver teapot has a rectangular rounded form onto a colet style base supported by four bun feet.

The body of the teapot is embellished with a band of bright cut engraved leaf and ribbon decoration.

This fine teapot retains the original domed hinged hallmarked cover.

The cover is surmounted by the original painted wood and sterling silver cushion shaped finial.

This fine George V teapot retains the original ribbed angular carved painted wood handle.

This antique teapot has a plain swan necked spout.

Although this antique teapot displays the Sheffield Assay Office hallmarks, it was made by the provincial Newcastle silversmith Reid & Sons.

Condition

This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in presentation condition.

The teapot is in excellent condition in keeping with age; there are some minor dings to the finial, but these do not detract from the piece.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the cover of the teapot are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example antique teaware.
