Description:

A Good Parquetry inlaid Serpentine commode chest of drawers dating from 1880s,, this excellent example has the original patiination and original breche d 'alep marble top.

Breche marbles are a category of marbles that are of the same composition: the pressure and distortions at the time of the geological formation of the stone created a marble with large elements

A lovely warm colour and cross banded canted edge, to the three serpentine drawers with bronze Mounts and Eschuchions.
The whole is inlaid and crossbanded with Kingwood and Fruitwood marquetry veneers.

Depth is 52cm
Height is 85cm.
