Description:

A BEAUTIFUL 40 DRAWER, TWO PIECE, FINELY FIGURED, MID VICTORIAN COLLECTORS CABINET OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY.

THIS FINE CABINET WAS ORIGINALLY USED FOR THE PROTECTION AND DISPLAY OF A BUTTERFLY COLLECTION BUT WILL LEND ITSELF ADMIRABLY TO A MULTITUDE OF COLLECTING PURSUITS.

THE CABINET IS IN TWO HALVES WHICH LOCK TOGETHER CENTRALLY. THIS MAKES TRANSPORTING AND LOCATING VERY EASY. THE FINELY FIGURED HONDURAS MAHOGANY IS RICH IN COLOUR AND PATINATION AND THE EBONY KNOBS SET OFF THE DRAWERS TO PERFECTION.

THE DRAWERS RUN LIKE SILK AND ARE SOLID MAHOGANY. THEY HAVE VERY CLOSELY FITTING GLAZED TOPS AND A UNIVERSAL CELL THAT RUNS AROUND THE INNER MARGIN. THE DRAWERS ARE CORKED AND PAPERED AND WE CAN RE-PAPER IF REQUIRED TO THE HIGHEST SPECIFICATION. THE UPPER PART OF THE CABINET CONTAINS 20 DRAWERS WHICH ARE 18 INCHES BY 18 INCHES AND 2.5 INCHES IN OVERALL DEPTH. THIS SECTION WILL ACCOMMODATE THE LONGEST CONTINENTAL PINS AND LARGE SPECIMENS. THE LOWER SECTION ALSO HAS 20 DRAWERS. THESE DRAWERS WILL ACCOMMODATE A PIN OF UP TO 37mm IN LENGTH.
THE CABINET DIMENSIONS ARE,
HEIGHT. 53.75 INCHES.
WIDTH. 39.75 INCHES.
FRONT TO BACK. 21.5 INCHES.

THIS CABINET IS ONE OF THE FINEST I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND THE QUALITY AND MATERIALS ARE OF THE UTMOST STANDARD PRODUCED IN THE GOLDEN AGE OF CABINET MAKING. I BELIEVE THE MAKER WAS DRUCE OF BAKER ST. EACH DRAWER IS A WORK OF ART AND IT IS INCONCEIVABLE HOW SUCH FINE TOLERANCES COULD BE ACHIEVED BY MERE MORTALS!
