Description:

Dating to the Regency period, this is a wonderfully decorative jewellery box with the most magnificent shape topped with a cast folding solid brass handle. The box stands on four very decorative Lion's paw feet.

The unusual Burr Thuya timber used has a contorted grain, hard and full of knots resulting in a beautiful mottled birds eye figure, producing some beautiful patterns.

The interior has been recently re-lined in an appropriate hand marbelled paper, creating a clean finish ready for use.

Excellent condition, this gem measures 7" x 5" x 4 1/2" tall to top of handle.
