Description:

A fine pair of 17th Century, Charles II period walnut chairs circa 1680.
seat height 18".
Very good quality carving to the walnut backs and front stretcher all united with barleytwist upright and cross stretchers.
Relatively broad chairs of this design, the peg joining being structurally solid and in useable condition unlike many from the period.
Superb colour , patination.
Minimal evidence of worm.
Currently having upholstered seats which would have originally been caned also. Recaning on request.
We also have a walnut daybed of the same quality and period to create a suite.
Collectors quality and condition.
