Description:

This one is as charming as they come and a rare find. This little ring box is modelled in the form of a coal scuttle complete with the handle on the top.

The front is decorated with the ever-popular Reynold's Angels scene, five charming winged cherub or putti figures. The slanted front is pulled down to reveal the original velvet cushion to accommodate two rings, the interior of the box is lined in the original pale blue silk.

The back of the box is where the full hallmark can be found which is rubbed but with this, the part hallmark on the drop-front and the English design registration number, the box can be dated to 1904 and assayed in the Birmingham assay office.

Quite wonderful in excellent original condition, measuring 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" x 1 5/8" to top of handle.
