Victorian Rosewood Writing Slope

This wonderful example of a Victorian Rosewood writing slope is in beautiful original condition. The case, highly figured rosewood, with wonderful mother of pearl decoration to the lid and front depicting roses, fuschias and thistles is of fine quality and well executed. Once open, the writing slope has a fabulous interior consisting of a deep royal blue crushed velvet slope with original gilt tooling, which lifts to open and provide storage for letters and envelopes, both sides of the slope open to give maximum storage. To the front of the slope is an area fitted for envelopes with 2 original glass ink bottles, 2 small lided areas (rosewood with mother of pearl handles) with a lift up rosewood pen section. Provided with a working lock and key this is certainly not going to disappoint, it really is a beautiful example. Width 15" Depth 10" Height 8.5" Price £495 (Ref : MISC72)
