George III Mahogany Bureau C1790  

A good quality George III period mahogany bureau circa 1790. Dimensions : Width 44"/112cm , Height 42"/107cm , Depth21"/53cm . In good condition this bureau has a cross banded fall with flame figured mahogany fall front with original working lock and key. It has a good fitted interior with baise writing surface. The four long drawers are completely oak lined and have beaded edges with the original brass swan neck handles . The column corners are embellished with satinwood inlaid arrow motifs .The bureau stands on the original bracket feet . Viewing welcome . Delivery available .

Georgian Mahogany Bureau / Writing Desk ca 1760 This beautiful antique Georgian mahogany bureau / writing desk has a moulded fall front with a brass key escutcheon. The interior has a black faux leather writing insert and the fitted interior is stepped with several pigeon holes, letter racks, drawers and a central cupboard. The lower section has four oak lined cock beaded drawers with replacement brass handles and key escutcheons. The piece stands on beautiful shaped bracket feet, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The fall front encloses a central cupboard, four pigeon holes, eleven stepped serpentine drawers and a lidded box recess. The lower section has two over two rippled drawers with ebony key escutcheons, keys and working locks. The piece stands on a rippled lower edge with turned bun feet, is a rich warm medium rosewood colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. A beautiful Victorian mahogany tambour fronted roll top bureau/desk having two drawers under and standing on turned legs. The tambour front rolls up to reveal a fitted interior with 4 small drawers in bird's eye maple and 5 galleries; the writing surface slides forward and has 3 original leather inlaid sections. The centre section of this lifts up for use as a writing slope revealing a well underneath. New leather is available to replace the worn, original leather if preferred. W 36", D 21", H 37.5" Sold
