| Victorian Burr Walnut Biedermier Work Box ca 1860
This beautiful antique Victorian burr walnut biedermeir work box has a quarter veneer, serpentine moulded top and the interior has two replacement lift out trays above a storage compartment. The piece is an unusual curved shape and stands on four elegant tapering cabriole legs. The piece is a golden walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

| Victorian Walnut Games / Work Box ca 1840
This beautiful Victorian walnut games / work box has an octagonal moulded top with central inlaid chequered top. The lid lifts, the interior has a removable sectioned tray (part lined with dark blue velvet) and a lower storage compartment. The piece stands on an octagonal tapering base with a turned pedestal, tripod splayed legs, is a warm medium walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

19thC English Victoriran period Japanned (patented technique of layering paint creating a lacquer like finish) and mother of pearl spectacular workbox/table. |
| 19th century English Victorian period Japanned (paint layering technique) and beautifully matched mother of pearl inlaid work table on stand having chinoiserie decoration of cockerels, bamboo and flowers. The hinged top reveals a fitted interior for sewing accoutrement or jewellery over a sliding basket with original silk bag, terminating in scroll supports.
The mother of pearl decoration appears on all sides, legs, underside of lid and the fitted interior as well, allowing it to stand in the middle of room if desired.
In original excellent condition. It is unlikely that you will ever see another.
Approx. 19 inches wide by 13 inches deep by 29.5 inches high. |
C1830 sarcophagus shape fitted workbox |
| Lovely circa 1830, late Regency/Wm. IV sarcophagus topped figured mahogany fitted interior work, jewellery or sewing box over fluted pedestal on shaped base with bun feet. Ivory escutcheon. Box and stand are original to each other. Interior has been relined at some stage in silver paper and red felt.
Top divided inner tray lifts up to reveal large lower storage section.
Box portion is 15.25 inches wide by 11.75 inches deep, by 7 inches high to edge, not including the rising sarcophagus part of top.
With stand, the workbox is 29 inches high, not including the sarcophagus part of top.
In excellent condition.

This beautiful Victorian mahogany games table / work box has a serpentine front and chequered top in assorted inlays. The piece has a frieze drawer above a pull out work box (this would have been covered in fabric), beautiful fretwork carved supports, shaped sides and stands on four scrolled legs. The piece has some old veneer repairs, is a rich dark mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
