Worcester Jug

Fine Large Royal Worcester Blush Ivory Claret Jug/Ewer

This is a lovely quality large Royal Worcester Blush Ivory Claret Jug / Ewer, Shape Number 1047. Dating to around 1900 this piece is beautifully decorated with floral sprays. An elegant and tall piece at approximately 10" in height. In excellent overall condition, there is just the odd spot of wear to the gold gilding. A delightful piece of Royal Worcester. If you have any queries feel free to contact us.

A Lowsetoft sauceboat, after Worcester.C.1775

Lovely crisp moulding on this interesting example. It is a direct copy of a Worcester one from C.1770. However, the painting is more naive, and it is typical Lowestoft. Also, the hatched crescent mark is not quite the same as Worcester. It is in nice condition for Lowestoft, with just a short crack as per photo. No other damage or restoration.

AN IMPORTANT LUNDS BRISTOL SAUCEBOAT C1750.

This is the RAREST porcelain sauceboat you are ever likely to see. This piece was made at the Lunds Bristol factory c1750 by Benjamin Lund and I have full verification and proof of this statement. The rare sauceboat is decorated with chinoserie subjects to both sides of the sauce boat and has all the typical Lund's features of the very first pieces that were made by this factory "Note the childlike decoration of the underglaze blue chinese figures" similar pieces are illustrated by Geofrey Godden, as most of you will know The Lunds factory was bought out by Dr John Wall Worcester porcelain in c1752 so Lunds Bristol only ran for an incredibly short period of time. Over the years I have seen many pieces of early Worcester on ebay that have had attributions to the Lunds Bristol porcelain factory, as pieces from this factory are exceptionally rare and incredibly desirable. This piece comes out of a very important collection of english blue/white porcelain and full details will be given to my buyer. This sauce boat really belongs in a Museum and to own an item like this is every english porcelain collectors dream. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches long and approx 2 1/2 inches high. Simon Spero (2005), p 76, pl 6, illustrates a sauceboat of related shape but with moulded cartouche panels from the Lunds Factory..

A SUPERB Worcester early cream or sauceboat, C.1755

Note the VERY early shape, with no footrim, BEAUTIFULL moulding around the panels, and elaborate handle. Also, the exagerated pouring spout. SUPERB CONDITION, with no chips, cracks or restorations. Untouched in over 250 years. To try to criticize it, there is an absolute mintute frit on the rim, where I think a buble has burst in the firing, and that is it. I have seen these very important early Worcester sauceboats selling for thousands, but I guess mine has a relatively simple pattern in blue.

A VERY FINE and WELL PAINTED Worcester sauceboat, C.1757

This RARE example is BEAUTIFULLY painted in real life. The chinoiserie fishing scenes are much fuller than my photos show, and are VERY charming. It is also in LOVELY ORIGINAL CONDITION, with only a chip to the spout, and is quite a large sauceboat at 9ins long by 3 1/2ins high.

A VERY EARLY LUNDS BRISTOL/Worcester sauceboat, C.1753/5.

A VERY EARLY LUNDS BRISTOL/Worcester sauceboat, C.1753/5. This is a particullarly crisp and well painted example. Hope my photos can give an idea of this. SUPERB CONDITION, with just an extended firing crack down one side, which my photo should show, otherwise PERFECT CONDITION. LOVELY workman's mark to the underside There is one large Chinoiserie landsacpe inside the boat, and 4 on the outside. An important addition to the 18th cen Worcester collection, and I offer this at a VERY reasonable price.

A GOOD Worcester sparrowbeak jug, C.1770.

A GOOD Worcester sparrowbeak jug, C.1770. My photos have lightened this a bit, as it is a darker blue in real life, and I think nicer. I am not quite sure wether it is the fence or 3 flowers patterns. LOVELY CONDITION, with just a nibble to the end of the spout, otherwise perfect. Fully marked to the underside with the Worcester hatched crescent mark. I ask a fraction of what I have seen one of these sell for.

FINE Worcester VERY EARLY sauceboat, C.1755

A FINE Worcester VERY EARLY sauceboat, C.1755. The enamels on this example are really good, and I hope you can see this in my photos. Note the interesting workman's mark to the underside of the base. The handle has been restuck, but there is no other damage or restoration. A really good example of the earliest of Worcester.

A SUPERB Worcester KAKIEMON sparrowbeak jug,C.1760

What lovely EARLY enamels to this, as I have come across jugs a little like this before, but this is the best I have seen. Note the Japanese Mon flower, and those Famile Verte flowers. Amazingly EXCELLENT condition, with no chips, cracks or restorations.
