A George I period walnut frame Wall Mirror. c1720 |
| This is a fragment of a once grand mirror frame.
Originally the upper part would have born and elaborate cresting which perhaps through its fragility was removed rather than repaired. The sides and top of the frame show signs of this removal but have gained such a patina and colour that could only have been achieved by many years of polishing and dusting, thus indicating the alteration would have been done during the 18th century |
