Victorian Burr walnut wardrobe / armoire ca 1860 This is a stunning Victorian Burr walnut wardrobe / armoire. The piece has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze and has a large full length mirrored door. The interior has four mahogany lined sliding linen trays above two over two graduating mahogany lined drawers with brass swan neck handles. The piece stands on a moulded plinth, has original backboards and the corners are rounded. It is a rich warm walnut colour and has a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Matching Pair of Victorian Walnut Armoires ca 1870 This rare matching pair of continental Victorian walnut armoires have stepped moulded cornices above full length doors with central beautiful figured mirrored walnut, intricate burr walnut banding, key and working lock. The front sides have beautiful inlaid leafy motifs and again burr walnut banding. One interior has adjustable shelves and the other has a later fitted wooden rail. Both pieces stand on inverted breakfront plain plinths, are a rich golden walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, are in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
