Victorian Walnut and Oak Glazed Bookcase / Display ca 1860 This beautiful Victorian walnut and oak glazed bookcase / display has a moulded cornice above a deep beautifully figured walnut deep frieze. The piece has two beautiful carved corbels, three moulded glazed panels, the two outer panels are doors and the interior has two fixed shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above two frieze drawers, three carved corbels and two cupboard doors. One lower panel has a slight shrinkage crack and the lower edge of the piece has two fretwork carved designs. The lower interior has one fixed shelf and the sides are panelled. This stylish piece is a warm golden oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
