small solid oak arch top bracket clock  
An exceptionally good quality and small bracket clock. The solid arched oak case has ornate fret work sides, and raided decoration to the frnot. It has a cast brass bezel with a bevel edge glass. The engraved and silvered dial is signed by the retailer "Curtis & Horspool, to HM The King, Leicester". The 8 day movement has a lever platform movement and strikes the hours and halves on a gong, it was made by Gillet and Johnston of Croydon, who are still in business today as bell founders. A classic shaped Edwardian silver plated mantel clock, having a swept arch top and a moulded edge base wih bracket feet. The ornate bezel contains a convex bevel edge glass and a hand decorated enamel dial. The clock has a French 8 day hour and half hour stiking movement that sounds on a gong. Good sized French four glass mantel clock. The case is polished and lacquered brass, with bevevelled edge glasses. The enamel two-piece dial has a visible Brocot escapement with agate pallets. The 8 day pendulum movement has a mecury filled pendulum and strikes the hour and halves on a bell. Large and Stunning Gilt Brass Gothic Clock Set with Dragons. by Vincenti et Cie. ~ French - Circa 1865 ~ ~~ Excellent condition ~~ A large and stunning Gothic clock set with excellent original gilding. It is beautifully made and features a large, deeply dished dial mounted with large custom made enamel cartouche letters. To the sides are dragons and below these are stylised mythical sea creatures. Candelabra are conforming in style with 6 lights. The back door is glazed with frosted glass. The French movement is by Vincenti it is of excellent quality and has been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It strikes the hours and halves on a coiled gong and runs for 8 days. Pendulum is an old replacement and the blued steel hands are original. The video below show this actual clock running and striking! Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding on the high spots and the candelabra are slightly distorted. Dial is also in excellent condition with just the occasional nibble to the cartouches. Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
