UNUSUAL DECO c1920 VIOLET NEODYMIUM FROSTED VASE WITH GOAT & BIRD |
| A handsome mould blown and cut glass vase in frosted and clear plum violet - which turns ice blue under fluorescent light - with a trumpet rim, ovoid body and low plinth base. The vase features a high relief prancing goat, a large bird, swirling leaves, and cloud shapes. The rim and base are enhanced with concave cut ovals and panels respectively. Condition: small bruise to the goat's front left leg; minor surface age and use wear; no cracks or hairlines - if you have any questions about this item, contact me. Circa 1900, unmarked, probably Bohemian, decoration possibly based on the Czech fairy tale "The Bird with the Golden Gizzard." A little over 6in/15.2cm high. |
