Victorian Mahogany Writing Table / Desk ca 1870 This beautiful antique Victorian mahogany writing table / desk has a rectangular moulded top with a green tooled leather writing insert. The piece has two longer over two smaller mahogany lined drawers with turned knobs and beautiful scrolled, carved corner brackets. The piece stands on four turned legs, has been recently re polished, fully restored and so is in very good condition. The piece has a rectangular moulded top with rounded corners and a black faux leather writing insert above three mahogany lined frieze drawers with original turned knobs. The piece stands on four beautifully turned tulip legs, is a warm medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The piece has a raised shaped back above a moulded top with an inverted bow front, flamed mahogany banding and intricate inlay. The central drawer is shaped above a knee hole and is flanked by two mahogany lined drawers. All the drawers have original brass handles, are mahogany lined and have intricate inlay around the edges. The piece stands on six tapering legs with spade feet and original brass castors, is a warm medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
