Victorian Walnut Twin Pedestal Desk ca 1870 This beautiful Victorian walnut twin pedestal desk has a rectangular moulded top with a green tooled leather writing insert above a long mahogany lined drawer above a kneehole. Each pedestal has four graduating mahogany lined drawers with original turned knobs, stand on moulded plinths and have later castors. The back has been finished enabling the piece to be positioned anywhere in a room. The piece splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a rich medium walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The right pedestal has four cock beaded mahogany lined drawers with brass swan neck handles and the left interior has a mahogany lined drawer above a cupboard with a central beautifully figured walnut panel. The interior has one removable shelf. The piece stands on beautiful shaped bracket feet, has a finished back enabling the piece to be positioned anywhere in the room, a key and three working locks. The piece splits into three pieces for ease of removals, is a light/medium walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. S06 Late Victorian Pedestal Desk In Walnut

A late Victorian twin pedestal desk in walnut, with an embossed green leather inset writing surface to the moulded edge top. The frieze holds one large central drawer flanking two smaller drawers. Each of the twin pedestals contains three graduated drawers. All of the drawers have single drop handles. The desk has the writing surface at a height of 30" and the sitting height, from floor to the bottom edge of the frieze, at 24". There is a measurement of 19" between the twin pedestals.
