HANDSOME LARGE VICTORIAN MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT TRIPLE WARDROBE

HANDSOME & IMPOSING VICTORIAN MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT TRIPLE WARDROBE COMPACTUM OF EXCELLENT QUALITY AND DATING FROM AROUND 1860. IT HAS A MOULDED CORNICE TOP ABOVE A DEEP MAHOGANY FRIEZE. THE BREAKFRONT HAS A FULL LENGTH BEVELLED MIRRORED DOOR SURROUNDED BY MAHOGANY FRAME WITH ARCHED TOP AND CARVED ACANTHUS CREST. INTERNALLY THERE IS AN OPEN SECTION WITH BRASS HOOKS AND FIVE GRADUATING DEEP DRAWERS ALL WITH BRASS HANDLES AND BEING MAHOGANY LINED. THERE ARE TWO FURTHER PANELLED AND ARCHED DOORS TO EITHER END FITTED INTERNALLY WITH BRASS HANGING RAIL AND DRAWER TO THE BOTTOM. IT STANDS ON A MOULDED PLINTH BASE. IT SPLITS INTO SIX PIECES FOR TRANSPORTING. IT MEASURES: 87" HIGH X DEPTH (EACH END) 26" X DEPTH (BREAKFRONT) 31" X INTERNAL DEPTH (EACH END) 20.5" X (CENTRE) X24.5" X 90" WIDE. Gorgeous Victorian Mahogany Triple Combination Wardrobe

This is a fabulous Victorian mahogany triple combination wardrobe with a superb colour. There is hanging space to the left with the rail on a slider so that you can pull out your clothes to view them and a shoe box at the bottom with a hinged lid. On the right are four slides over a chest of two small and two large drawers, all of which slide in and out with ease. There is a mirror to the central door. The cornice is elegant in its simplicity. A truly magnificent wardrobe.

Victorian Mahogany Breakfront Triple Wardrobe ca 1870 This beautiful Victorian mahogany breakfront triple wardrobe has an unusual moulded cornice above a deep frieze and a large central mirrored door flanked by two moulded, panelled doors, the corners are canted. The central interior has hanging hooks above a fixed shelf and five sliding linen trays. The right interior has hanging hooks, a later hanging rail, one fixed shelf and a sliding linen tray. The left interior has a hanging hook above a fixed shelf and a sliding linen tray (a modern hanging rail could be fitted, at no extra cost if required). The piece stands on a plain breakfront plinth, has original backboards, splits into five sections plus doors for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The piece has turned finials above an unusual arched cornice above a central arched mirror with slight foxing and flanked by two arched panelled doors with a simple floral inlay. The piece has its original hinges, handles, key and working locks.
