Victorian mahogany spoon-back chair |
| A really lovely quality Victorian mahogany spoon-back arm chair, traditionally re-upholstered in a rich fabric. Extremely comfortable. Well defined scroll carving with serpentine front and original castors. |
Victorian Rosewood Double Spoon Back Settee |
| Rare, Early Victorian double spoon back settee with solid rosewood showwood frame surround that runs the entire length of the upholstery. Profusely carved and retaining the original polished finish that has been revived and waxed, this item was professionally reupholstered from the frame up six years ago at a cost of £650.00 whch included respringing and horsehair. Finished in white Calico, its all ready for final covering in a fabric of the buyers choice. There are some very minor faults that consist of a small chunk of rosewood missing from the rear tip of one of the front feet at the back, also some obvious slivers of rosewood missing from the rear of one back leg. Two of the brass castors are missing and these can be replaced on purchase. The frame is rock solid with no movement and there is hardly any tack damage to the Rosewood frame which suggests it has never been extensively reupholstered until now. All the carving is intact, there are no sections missing and no damage or previous repairs. This settee measures 76" long by 34" deep and 36" high.
