Victorian Oak Secretaire Bookcase ca 1870
This beautiful Victorian oak secretaire bookcase has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze above two glazed doors with arched moulding, key and working lock. The interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above a deep drawer with a fold down front. The interior has a tooled leather writing insert, several small mahogany lined drawers and pigeon holes, all beautifully veneered in birds eye maple. The lower cupboard has two doors with arched moulded panels. The piece stands on a plain plinth, has original backboards, splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a medium/dark oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

The two lower cupboard doors have original handles and the interior has one removable shelf. The piece stands on a plain plinth. The piece has original backboards, splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a medium walnut colour and is in good original condition
