Victorian Antique Rosewood Sofa Table ca 1860

Victorian Antique Rosewood Sofa Table ca 1860 This beautiful small Victorian antique continental rosewood sofa table has a serpentine top with two drop leaves which are supported by swing brackets. The front and back are serpentine shaped and the front has a mahogany lined drawer with a key and working lock. The four outer corners have turned finials and the piece has four beautifully turned reeded upright supports. The piece stands on four beautiful scrolled carved legs with brass and wood casters and a turned reeded stretcher. The piece is a rich dark rosewood colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Circa 1840 An Early Victorian Rosewood Card Table Circa 1840, this early Victorian rosewood card table has a highly figured hinged top which opens to reveal a circular baise lined interior. The top swivels to reveal a recess for gaming counters, cards etc, and below is a shaped frieze bordered by scrolling acanthus carving. Beneath the frieze is a beautiful finely carved vase shaped stem terminating in well defined cabriole supports with foliate carving to the knees and toes . This beautiful table stands on original small brass casters and will suit the finest of interiors.
