Victorian Burr Ash Bedroom Suite ca 1890 This beautiful Victorian antique burr ash bedroom suite consists of a double wardrobe and dressing table. The wardrobe has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze, a central bevelled mirrored door with original handle, key and working lock. The piece has two moulded panels and a deep drawer below. The interior has a brass hanging rail and hooks. Most of the edges have a beautiful bur walnut band, boxwood and ebony string inlay and a smaller band of satinwood. The cornice has a later adjustment and the piece splits into four sections for ease of removals. The dressing table has an oval bevelled mirror above three small, mahogany lined, jewellery drawers and a shaped shelf. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above two over two graduating mahogany lined drawers and the piece stands on four tapering legs with brass castors. Again most of the edges have a beautiful bur walnut band, boxwood and ebony string inlay and a smaller band of satinwood. The suite is a golden ash colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
