This fine Victorian writing table in oak carries the retailers drawer stamp "Howard & Sons, Berners St". The high quality original brass locks to the twin drawers are by Hobbs & Co of London.
The gadroooned top is inset with a faded black leather (replacement), with gold tooling.
The table is characterised by wonderful detail to all elevations, with twin dummy drawers to the rear, making the piece suitable for a free-standing location.

Victorian Oak Side / Writing Table ca 1870
This beautiful Victorian oak side / writing table has a rectangular moulded top with rounded corners and a black faux leather writing insert. The piece has two oak lined drawers with original turned knobs, stands on four elegant turned legs with original brass castors, is a light oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
