Victorian Mahogany Small Glazed Bookcase ca 1890 This beautiful antique Victorian mahogany small glazed Bookcase has a rectangular top above a moulded edge, two full length glazed doors with key and working lock, the interior has three adjustable shelves. The piece stands on a plain plinth, has been altered from a larger bookcase and is now a smaller more useable size. The piece is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. The piece had three glazed panels arched moulding, the two outer doors have brass handles, key and working locks and the interior has two fixed shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above a long shaped frieze drawer and two beautifully carved corbels. Late Victorian Mahogany Glazed Library Bookcase Constructed in Mahogany with profusely hand carved decorations and of a compact size. The glazed section is original to the base and is not a later addition. The base section has a secret drawer that runs its full width and there is a deep sliding tray for extra storage within the cabinet itself. This item retains its original french polished finish which is in excellent condition showing a deep shine from years of waxing. All the carved detail is 100% intact and there is no veneer missing. There are four adjustable shelves to the glazed top which retains its original glass, all the doors open smoothly and lie flat when closed and have working keys. The overall colour is a warm mid brown that is consistent all the way round the item. This bookcase is in amazingly original condition and as you can see from the images has some lovely features. Victorian Mahogany Glazed Library Bookcase

Victorian mahogany glazed library bookcase with cupboard base. At nearly eight feet high, this bookcase has extensive capacity and is the popular rounded corner model. Constructed from solid mahogany, then in part, veneered again with thick figured mahogany veneer - this is a superbly made and substantial piece. The glazed top section is totally original to the base. Original glass, locks, fittings with four adjustable mahogany edged solid shelves to the top and two to the base. All four doors close nice and flat and the locks and catches are all working as they should. Original French polished finish with some light refinishing to some areas of the base. No damage and no veneer chips anywhere and no shrinkage splits to the door panels. Attractive mid brown mahogany colour throughout with some slight fading.
