Large Victorian Mahogany Double Wardrobe (more images to be added within the next 24 hours) Overall dimensions 87" high 56" wide (cornice) 27" deep (cornice) Good size inside hanging space measures 54" high 49" wide 21" deep Superb quality double wardobe constructed from solid mahogany and veneered in thick figured mahogany veneer with an extra large hanging depth, front to back of 21". No splits or cracks and no missing veneer. Doors close without sticking and lock with a working key. Both catches work perfectly. Two short and one long solid mahogany drawers to the interior which are a really good size with plenty of depth. Drawers run nice and smoothly. The extending hanging fitments are later additions and can be replaced with a tubular rail running side to side if desired ,pre delivery, free of charge. Original french polished finish is showing a deep lustre and has been carefully cleaned and waxed. Overall colour is light mahogany, with the sides slightly darker, and is consistent. (because of lighting, photo shows darker to the left door) Some minor aged marks, knocks, dents etc but nothing untoward. We can deliver in our own vehicle for cost of fuel round trip to your door anywhere in England and Wales within a few days of purchase - please get in touch for a firm quote. Victorian Mahogany double wardrobe / armoire ca 1890. This stunning antique Victorian Mahogany double wardrobe / armoire has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze, it has two cupboard doors with raised fielded panels, later key escutcheons, key and working lock. The right hand interior has brass hooks above a fixed shelf and has four sliding linen trays. The left hand interior has a brass hanging rail and is deep enough for a modern coat hanger. The lower section has a moulded top above a deep mahogany lined drawer and stands on raised legs. This is a quality piece with it’s original mahogany backboards. The piece is a rich red mahogany colour with striking grain, good patina, and is in good condition, which has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing and splits into three for ease of removal. The door is flanked by two arched moulded panels and the interior has original brass hooks (a hanging rail could be added if required). The lower section has a deep mahogany lined drawer with original turned knobs. The piece has a deep cock beaded lower drawer and stands on beautiful shaped bracket feet. The right interior has hanging hooks and the left interior has four sliding linen trays. The piece has beautiful intricate inlays and banding, replacement handles that suit the piece perfectly, a brass slam strip, keys, working locks and two thin shrinkage marks on the doors.
