Victorian Mahogany Linen Press / Armoire ca 1870 This beautiful Victorian mahogany linen press / armoire has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze above two cupboard doors with oval flamed mahogany panels, key and working lock. The interior has two fixed shelf and one door is slightly warped. The lower section has two over two graduating drawers with moulded edges and turned knobs (one is chipped). The piece stands on four beautiful turned bun feet, is a rich, medium, mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. This press has been restored by ourselves and polished to a rich mahogany colour. There are linen slides behind the figured mahogany doors. The drawers run nicely and have the original handles. It splits into two sections for ease of transport. 81" high x 52" wide

The piece has a deep cock beaded lower drawer and stands on beautiful shaped bracket feet. The right interior has hanging hooks and the left interior has four sliding linen trays. The piece has beautiful intricate inlays and banding, replacement handles that suit the piece perfectly, a brass slam strip, keys, working locks and two thin shrinkage marks on the doors.
