Victorian ‘Simpson’ Flamed Mahogany Chest of Drawers ca 1870
This beautiful Victorian flamed mahogany chest of drawers is stamped by the maker Simpson and has a rectangular top with a shaped frieze drawer above two over three graduating drawers with moulded edges and beautiful turned knobs. The piece has a few shrinkage marks, has beautifully turned columns down either side, stands on a flamed mahogany plinth, is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

This stunning antique Victorian mahogany wellington chest is stamped in the top drawer ‘John Day cabinet maker to the Royal Palace Kensington. The piece has a rectangular top above a deep frieze, two beautiful carved corbels and six graduating mahogany lined drawers all with Hobbs and Co locks (a sign of quality) and Victorian glass knobs. The piece stands on a plain plinth, has original back boards, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
