19thC Victorian solid mahogany bookcase cupboard.

19th century late Victorian all original solid mahogany (not veneered) bookcase of lovely proportions with unusual breakfront architectural top. The top glazed section has two shelves, and stands over a panelled cupboard divided by one shelf to interior. The whole is surmounted with a lovely architectural cornice, and stands on a plinth base. Lovely original colour, patina, and glass, and with two original keys. The excellent proportions will allow this to fit into any home. Many bookcase cupboards are simply too high or too wide for modern homes. 39.25 inches side by 16.75 inches deep, by 75 inches high to the point on the cornice. Separates into two pieces for transport. In very good condition, and a very useful piece for books and storage or to display collections. RESERVED.

Victorian Mahogany Bookcase / Cupboard ca 1860 This beautiful Victorian mahogany bookcase / cupboard has a moulded cornice above four moulded cupboard doors with brass knobs, key and working locks. The upper interior has three adjustable shelves and the lower interior has one fixed shelf. The piece stands on a moulded plinth, has moulded panelled sides, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Victorian Mahogany Glazed Bookcase on Cupboard ca 1870 This beautiful Victorian mahogany glazed bookcase on cupboard has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze with a striking figured mahogany. The two glazed doors have arched mouldings, key with working lock, ornately carved corbels and the interior has three shelves. The lower section has a rectangular top above a shaped frieze drawer and the two cupboard doors have shield shaped panels and key with working lock. The piece stands on a deep plain plinth and has four chunky turned bun feet. The interior has one fixed shelf and again the piece has two ornate carved corbels in the corners. The piece is a light mahogany colour, splits into two sections for ease of removals, has a striking grain, good patina, is in good original condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
