Victorian Mahogany Breakfront Library Bookcase ca 1870 This beautiful antique Victorian mahogany breakfront library bookcase has a moulded cornice above a deep frieze and three arched glazed panels, the central panel being fixed. The two outer doors have glass knobs, key, working lock, turned corbels and the interior has three fixed shelves. The lower section has a breakfront moulded top above three shaped frieze drawers, a fixed central panel and two outer doors with raised arched panels. The two outer doors have glass knobs, key, working lock and the interior has one fixed shelf. The piece has beautiful turned columns, stands on shaped bracket feet, has original backboards, splits into two sections for ease of removals, is a rich red mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Victorian Oak (Holland & Sons) Library Bookcase ca 1880 This beautiful Victorian oak Arts & Crafts library bookcase is stamped by the renowned maker Holland & Sons. The piece has a moulded cornice above three glazed doors with moulded edges and each interior has three adjustable shelves. The lower section has a rectangular moulded top above three cupboard doors with beautiful carved panels. The left and central interiors each have one adjustable shelf and the right interior has six oak lined drawers with brass pull handles. All the edges have been ebonised, and the piece splits into three sections for ease of removals, is a medium oak colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Each glazed interior has three removable replacement shelves with mahogany beading. The lower section has a breakfront top above eight cupboard doors with brass key escutcheons and working locks. Each interior has one removable shelf and the piece stands on a plain breakfront plinth. The sides have been later adjusted and the piece has a few character marks due to age and use. Victorian Mahogany Glazed Library Bookcase

Late Victorian Mahogany Glazed Library Bookcase Constructed in Mahogany with profusely hand carved decorations and of a compact size. The glazed section is original to the base and is not a later addition. The base section has a secret drawer that runs its full width and there is a deep sliding tray for extra storage within the cabinet itself. This item retains its original french polished finish which is in excellent condition showing a deep shine from years of waxing. All the carved detail is 100% intact and there is no veneer missing. There are four adjustable shelves to the glazed top which retains its original glass, all the doors open smoothly and lie flat when closed and have working keys. The overall colour is a warm mid brown that is consistent all the way round the item. This bookcase is in amazingly original condition and as you can see from the images has some lovely features. Victorian Mahogany Glazed Library Bookcase

Victorian mahogany glazed library bookcase with cupboard base. At nearly eight feet high, this bookcase has extensive capacity and is the popular rounded corner model. Constructed from solid mahogany, then in part, veneered again with thick figured mahogany veneer - this is a superbly made and substantial piece. The glazed top section is totally original to the base. Original glass, locks, fittings with four adjustable mahogany edged solid shelves to the top and two to the base. All four doors close nice and flat and the locks and catches are all working as they should. Original French polished finish with some light refinishing to some areas of the base. No damage and no veneer chips anywhere and no shrinkage splits to the door panels. Attractive mid brown mahogany colour throughout with some slight fading. The bottom section has two drawers above two fielded panel doors with fixed shelf behind. The bookcase has been completely repolished to a warm brown colour. 48" wide x 19" deep x 86" high.
