Victorian Carved Hall Chair |
| This is a pretty and unusual hall chair of small dimensions, made in 1894 - the date is carved onto the base of the back.
It is possibly a fruitwood and continental, with intricate carving to both sides of the back and the seat top. The colour is good, and there is no damage or restoration to the chair. The turned legs are jointed into the underside of the seat, and the removable back is held on with two wooden wedges (these are replacements), so it would seem that is was made to transport easily.
It measures 34.25" to the top of the back, 15" to the seat, and the seat is 15.25" at the widest part and 14" from back to front.
A pretty and unusual piece of Victorian furniture.
