A Victorian Burr Walnut Four-Tier Whatnot. There are no loose or bubbling veneers and has been given a very gentle polish to retian its original patina. It has a crown of inlaid veneers on the top section with a pyramid-type affect with all struts matching and each individual shelf has an inlay and cross-banding. This is a very attractive & sought-after piece of furniture.

Circa 1870, attractive Victorian Burr walnut whatnot.
Circa 1870, a Victorian burr walnut whattnot, very striking in appearace, it features 3 tiers supported via barley twist supports. This lovely item is serpentine fronted from top to bottom. At the base it has a drawer with turned handles and to the top a beautiful 3 sided fretwork gallery and finials. Raised upon original white china and bucket casters.

Superb Victorian Whatnot in Burr Walnut c1860
This is an attractive Victorian whatnot in the well figured burr walnut that is particularly sought after by collectors. The top with moulded edge and galleried upstand lies over two further shelves and a drawer base, joined by solid carved barleytwist columns.
The drawer base with it's original turned handles sits over turned bun feet on the original brass castors with beaded ring detail and china wheels.
This attractive small whatnot is in wonderful original condition with no warping, cracks or breaks anywhere.
Although this whatnot is around 150 years old it has obviously been well looked after in its lifetime as it is in very good overall condition, retaining the original shellac polish finish, with a wonderful rich glowing colour and patina.
