This striking Victorian walnut bureau / bookcase has a moulded cornice above two astragal glazed doors with key and working lock. The interior has two adjustable shelves and the lower section has a curved lift up lid , pull out writing slope with a faux leather writing insert and four small drawers with brass knobs. The piece has two cupboard doors with beaded edges, stands on a plain plinth and the interior has one fixed shelf. The piece is one solid piece and only the cornice is detachable for ease of removals. The piece is a warm rich walnut colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.

| A beautiful Victorian mahogany tambour fronted roll top bureau/desk having two drawers under and standing on turned legs. The tambour front rolls up to reveal a fitted interior with 4 small drawers in bird's eye maple and 5 galleries; the writing surface slides forward and has 3 original leather inlaid sections. The centre section of this lifts up for use as a writing slope revealing a well underneath. New leather is available to replace the worn, original leather if preferred.

19th Century Secretaire abatant |
| A Fabulous 19th Century Abatant Secretaire Chest.
Circa early to mid 19th Century a French abatant chest. This beautiful example has highly figured book paged mahogany veneering to its front comprising of 4 slim line drawers with the secretaire fall between. Each drawer has a carved wood decorative key escution and working lock, the secretaire fall folds down to create a writing surface behind which is a deep recess for note paper etc, boarded by scrolling foliate carving. Above this is a central figured mahogany door revealing a very capacious cupboard (locking) flanked either side by 2 banks of drawers each with mahogany turned handles with faceted glass insets to their centres. The whole raised on block feet to the rear and extremely well defined scrolling cabriole supports to the front.
Superb mahogany conker colour.

Circa 1845 a Mahogany Antique Secretaire Abattant |
| Circa 1845, a Secretaire Abattant, possibly German. An impressive piece, being veneered in superb "flame" mahogany. Raised on block feet, it comprises four capacious drawers, plus the secretaire "fall" featuring a large figured mahogany panel which folds down (counterweight) to reveal a truly excellent fitted interior.
A central bowfronted cupboard door (locking) flanked by small turned pilasters lies between two banks of 3 drawers, each beautifully made, whilst above is a long drawer of the same quality. Beneath the bank of drawers lies an open recess flanked by a pair of well disguised secret pen drawers. Finally, a pair of excellent turned pillars with beautiful acanthus carved detailing finishes this stunning and elegant piece. Fully restored in beautiful condition.
