Pair Royal Doulton Stoneware Vases c1902 - 1927

An attractive pair of Royal Doulton stoneware vases dating from circa 1902 - 1927. They are decorated with purple grapes and green and blue stylized leaves and fronds on a grey background. Both bear the Royal Doulton backstamp of a circle with a crown and a lion above and the words 'Royal Doulton England', along with an impressed pattern number 7942 and a letter 's'. They measure 7" high and 4" in diameter at the widest part. One vase is perfect, with no damage, but the other has been repaired. The undamaged vase, as well as the aforementioned markings to the base also has the incised initials 'FJ'. The damaged vase has the incised initials MB' to the base. The damage is to the neck and the upper part of the vase, which has been broken and repaired, but as they are a pair, it would be a pity to split them, as the repair is not terribly noticeable. However, should you wish to purchase only the perfect vase, I would be willing to sell it for £50.00. These are very decorative and attractive vases which would suit either period or modern interiors. Free postage and packing on these items within the UK. Overseas buyers PayPal only. Please e-mail for postage and packing charges.

The backs of the swans and behind the blossoms are containers for posies of flowers. They are in very good condition, with the exception of one of the ladies having had her head restuck, but this repair is barely discernible. An enchanting pair of early 1900's bisque ornaments.
